21 - Mosquito Lingo: Buzzing into the Basics

Abstract: Community Outreach and Public Education play a crucial role in maintaining public health. Many of the terms commonly used in the mosquito control industry may be unfamiliar to the general public, leading to confusion and miscommunication. To assess our community's understanding, we conducted a survey, and the results revealed areas where we can improve our educational efforts. Using non-technical language is essential to ensure that our messages about mosquito control are clear and effectively received by the public.
