78 - Adulticidal activity of Hemp Extracts against Aedes aegypti

Abstract: Previously, we found that hemp extracts were toxic to larvae of Aedes aegypti and cannabidiol (CBD) was the key active ingredient. However, toxicity of hemp extracts against adult females is currently unknown. Here we show that topically applied hemp extracts caused dose-dependent mortality in adult females, but CBD elicited relatively weak effects. Future research will identify the specific compound(s) in hemp extracts responsible for the adulticidal activity.
