Abstract: VectorByte is a comprehensive, open-access digital platform designed to support the study and management of vector-borne in plant, animal, and human disease systems. It is comprised of three databases: 1) VecTraits (biological trait data, such as temperature-dependent growth rates), 2) VecDyn (abundance data, such as mosquito surveillance records), and 3) The Vector Data Ecosystem (a directory of vector open-data sources.
The platform allows for data sharing and visualization, fostering collaboration among global stakeholders in vector biology, epidemiology, and public health. By providing tools for data analysis and modeling and prediction training, VectorByte enhances our understanding of vector ecology and the factors influencing disease transmission, contributing to more effective strategies for mitigating the spread of vector-borne diseases.
