Abstract: Naled resistance testing using bottle bioassays may not provide definitive answers for chemical evaluations. Enzyme microplate assays are a research tool designed to define mechanisms of metabolic resistance in arthropod populations. The operational relevance of this technique was evaluated to see if it fits the needs of Lee County Mosquito Control District’s Field Validation department in classifying mechanisms of resistance in native populations of Culex nigripalpus to Naled. These assays have the potential to shorten the logistical chain of acquiring and testing mosquito populations for insecticide resistance.
