Kyndall Braumuller, PhD, is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics within the Arnold School of Public Health here at the University of South Carolina. She earned her PhD in Epidemiology at the University of South Carolina where her research focused on tick-borne spotted fever group rickettsioses in El Salvador. Dr. Braumuller has a wide variety of vector-borne disease epidemiology, ecology, and outbreak investigation experience including in tick-borne spotted fever group rickettsioses, mosquito-borne La Crosse Encephalitis virus, West Nile virus, malaria, and triatomine-borne Chagas disease. Her current research builds on her over 10 years of experience specializing in this field, where she strives to understand more about mosquito-borne disease dynamics in South Carolina and abroad to ultimately lead to advances in mosquito-borne disease preparedness and prevention.
