Madeline Fryer is a MS student at Louisiana State University, studying Environmental Science. She works with the City of New Orleans Mosquito, Termite, and Rodent Control Board (NOMTRCB), where her research focuses on cryptic larval habitats in Orleans Parish, Louisiana. In 2023, Madeline wrote and defended her honors thesis, which used drones to evaluate urban waste and litter in Baton Rouge, LA waterways. Her interest in drones and urban waste management complimented the experiences she gained as an intern at NOMTRCB. Madeline plans to use her knowledge of stormwater and waste management to document the distribution of mosquito larvae in New Orleans, LA storm drains and green infrastructure. In January, 2025 Madeline defended her Master's work and is expecting to graduate May, 2025.
