Ph.D. Candidate
Colorado State University, Colorado, United States
Greg Pugh, Doctoral Candidate, Colorado State University. After completing 8 years in the Marine Corps, Greg wanted to pursue an education, something no one in his family had the ability to pursue. He attended McLennan Community College and obtained his Associates of Science while doing research on the Mesoamerican Reef, investigating coral disease, fish abundance, and sponge populations. He then went to Baylor University where he was selected for the university’s inaugural McNair Scholars Program. He completed his Bachelor of Science focusing on Tropical Disease Biology. Currently, he is a 5th year doctoral candidate at Colorado State University, working with Brian Foy. Greg is a staunch advocate for first-generation and non-traditional students and aims to mentor people who need help navigating education and finding resources that are not always apparent.
