Dr. Flores obtained her B.Sc. (1986) in Biology from the UANL, and a master’s in science in Medical Entomology (1987) from the same University. Her Ph.D. in Parasitology (1992) from ITESM, Monterrey, Mexico. Currently, she is the head of the Department of Invertebrate Zoology at the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon, Monterrey, Mexico, and Research-Professor with 33 years of experience in the Medical Entomology field. National Researcher Level 3 in Mexico. Leads the search for innovative ideas for developing insecticide resistance projects and managing infectious diseases transmitted by insect vectors. Member of the Advisory Group monitoring and managing insecticide resistance in insects’ vectors of infectious diseases in Mexico. WHO expert member of collaborating institutions for the multi-center study on the determination of insecticide discriminating concentrations to monitor resistance in mosquitoes. She has experience with global and local companies evaluating Phase I and II insecticides for vector control.
