Lili Tao, M.D., Ph.D., D(ABMM), is an assistant professor in the Department of Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she serves as the Medical Director of the Immunoserology Laboratory and Medical Director of the Mycology Laboratory. Tao received her M.D. from Medical School of Zhejiang University and earned her Ph.D. in respiratory infectious diseases from Fudan University. She completed her postdoctoral research training at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center followed by a clinical and public health microbiology CPEP fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. With significant interest in medical mycology, Tao is particularly passionate in contributing to the rapid diagnosis for fungal diseases.
