Heather Ward has a diverse background, holding a Master of Science in Microbiology, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She currently serves as the Laboratory/Surveillance Manager at Canyon County Mosquito Abatement District, where she oversees mosquito population surveillance, mosquito identification, staff training, data analysis, and the application of molecular methods for arbovirus testing. Her previous roles include positions as a Molecular Biological Technician at Anastasia Mosquito Control District, a Regional Medical Entomologist at the Texas Department of State Health Services, and an Assistant Laboratory Manager at Vector Disease Control International (VDCI). Throughout these roles, she has gained extensive experience in mosquito identification, emergency response, field sampling, and laboratory management. Heather has also made valuable contributions to publications and presentations in her field and actively participates in academic and professional projects related to mosquito biology and vector control.
