She holds a Bachelor's and a Teaching Degree in Biological Sciences from UFPE, a Master's in Animal Biology from UFPE and a PhD in Public Health from Aggeu Magalhães Research Center/Oswaldo Cruz Foundation. She has been a researcher at the Department of Entomology/Aggeu Magalhães Institute IAM/Fiocruz-PE since 2002. She has experience in parasitology with an emphasis on medical-veterinary entomology in the following lines of research: bioecology of culicidae (mosquitoes); diagnosis and management of resistance to chemical and biological insecticides; evaluation of experimental or commercial chemical or biological (bacterial) products; evaluation of technologies and methods for control and surveillance of Aedes aegypti, Aedes albopictus and Culex quinquefasciatus; evaluation of the competence and vectorial capacity of these species to arboviruses and filarial worms. She is a professor at the Postgraduate Program in Biosciences and Biotechnology in Health (PPGBBS/IAM/Fiocruz-PE), has been Head of the Department of Entomology since April/2022, Coordinator of the Reference Service for Control of Culicidae Vectors (SRCCV/IAM-PE) and member of the Ethics Committee for Research with Human Beings at IAM (CEP/IAM).
