Public Health Entomology for All Fellow
Centers for Disease Control & Entomological Society of America, Puerto Rico, United States
I am a Public Health Entomology for All fellow in San Juan, Puerto Rico, working at the Dengue Branch under Luisa Otero. I graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor's in Mathematics and minors in biology and health professions, and I hold an Associate of Science from South Plains College.
In the McMillian Research Lab, I participated in mosquito rearing, blood feeding, data collection, trap setting, and mosquito identification. My specialty in the lab was risk mapping using R coding, and I worked with the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station to aid in public health risk awareness for West Nile Virus and Eastern Equine Encephalitis. I excel in maintaining accurate records, guiding teams, and collaborating with scientists. I am passionate about designing research studies and developing innovative solutions to complex problems. I am eager to leverage my skills and experience at a higher strategic level.
