Division Manager
Maricopa County Environmental Services Department, Vector Control Division, Arizona, United States
Since 1991 I have worked for Maricopa County serving our citizens for over 32 years. I have served as the Vector Control Division Manager for 24 years. During my time at vector control, I have seen the introduction of West Nile virus, Aedes aegypti mosquitoes, and roof rats into our county. I have also seen the reintroduction of St. Louis Encephalitis into our local mosquito population since 2015. Since then, we have seen dual infections of our mosquito population with West Nile virus and St. Louis Encephalitis. Recently we discovered the presence of Dengue in our mosquito population, which led to the first locally acquired cases of Dengue in Maricopa County.
