Abstract: This study characterizes the insecticidal activities of geraniol, a key component of essential oils derived from Geranium spp., against Aedes aegypti. We demonstrate that geraniol is toxic to both first instar larvae and adult female mosquitoes within 24 h. Additionally, it spatially repels adult females. Our findings suggest geraniol is versatile for insecticide development and warrant further exploration of geraniol’s modes of action against mosquitoes.
